The plants of the genus Ascocenda are hybrids of species of the genus Vanda with species of the genus Ascocentrum. Ascocenda prefer to grow without plant material, as they have very air-hungry roots. The plants should be sprayed daily if possible and immersed once a week for 15-20 minutes. Place these orchids in terracotta pots, for example. These pots retain moisture, and to dive, fill the pot with water and drain after 15-20 minutes.
