Location: Bright and warm window seat. Shade if there is too much solar radiation in summer. In summer also outdoors in a sheltered place.
Laelia is closely related to the genus Cattleya. Many species of both genera are crossed with each other in order to gain new cultivated forms for the trade. The genus includes about 75 epiphytic (tree-dwelling) species that are distributed from Mexico to Argentina and are particularly numerous in Brazil. The corms are spherical, oval or elongated, the flowers are reminiscent of Cattleya, but have a less conspicuous lip.
