Sphagnum is the ideal additive in the orchid substrate for plants that would like it to be a little moister. But Sphagnum is also very suitable as a complete substrate, for example for Masdevallia, Dracula or Pleurothallis. We also plant many young plants or sections in sphagnum so that they root faster.
